Villefort feeling good for WEC 38 welterweight clash

Danillo “Indio” Villefort says he feels good after dropping to welterweight for a fight with Mike Campbell at WEC 38.
Training “has gone well and was everything I expected,” he told leading Brazilian MMA outlet Brasil Combate.
“I focused my stand up game because my opponent is southpaw, but I didn’t leave my wrestling and jiu jitsu homework”
“My strategy is going to be simple, walking on the side of his right hand, to get close and punish him on the ground and pound until he let me to catch him without hurry”
With the WEC recently dropping its middleweight class, Villefort has found the cut to 170lb relatively easy thanks to techniques learned from legendary American Top Team conditioning coach Andre Benkei.
“My usual walk around weight is around 205 pounds and now I weigh 185,” he revealed.
“Unfortunately I no longer train conditioning with Benkei because I didn’t get an agreement with Primetime [Benkei's gym] to keep training there, but I was directed to train with JC Santana, who is an excellent coach.”
WEC 38 takes place on January 25th and will be headlined by a lightweight title bout between Janie Varner and Donald Cerrone.
