Takanori Gomi wants to fight either for UFC or Strikeforce
The “Fireball Kid” Takanori Gomi arrived in Las Vegas last Friday for two reasons: watching Manny Pacquiao to fight Miguel Cotto for OMB welterweight title and decide his professional situation in America before getting married. The statements comes out from his personal blog.
“I disembarked in Las Vegas on Friday 13th with two goals in mind. The priority is to solve my professional situation in America before my marriage. I hope the negotiations go on and I can have a starting point next year. My friend Tito Ortiz has been supporting me whereas he knows the scenes from this side of Pacific. I will talk to UFC officers and I hope a good agreement this time to show off my potential and get the belt that belongs to me. If I haven’t good conversations with Zuffa, Strikeforce is an option and I hope I’m not here only to tourism.”
“MGM arena is a great place to be in and Manny Pacquiao is a real champion. I like to see great champions work in boxing matches. I couldn’t miss this opportunity. The wheather is good here and I hope to return with news for my fans. I want to show to America the strenght of Japanese fighters. That’s what I have in mind and what I wish the most. Wait for news” said Gomi who comes off an unanious victory over Tony Hervey at Vale Tudo Japan past month.
